Saw Clicker is a quick prototype made in one day developed using Stencyl game engine. It was made with the self-imposed challenge of one day one prototype, with the mindset of trying out new creative gameplay mechanics.

The original concept of the game involving industrial/wasteland setting, where player is an overlord to a factory, enslaving people to produce parts to expand your kingdom of machines. When they failed to do so, that’s when you punish them to set an example, usually involve murdering them brutally.

The game is essentially a clicker genre. It was made with the intention of creating different representation of reward for the player. Instead of the usual incremental rewards in the clicker genre, I was focusing more on satisfaction of watching something or someone brutally getting killed, smashed, sliced, diced…you get the idea. After this prototype was made, it gave me a possible game idea that can enhance the feeling of satisfaction. If this game were to be expanded in the future, the one feature I would really like to try out is augmentations where players can augment the saw blade with various tools to kill in style.

Try out Saw Clicker (686 KB) prototype! Let me know what you think, I hope this simple prototype could expand both the horizons of you as it did to me. Thanks for reading!
